This resource consists of a power point which covers 2 lessons (all required worksheets are included and teacher notes in the notes area of each slide). The topic is rainfall. It allows you to teach: why/how rainfall occurs, frontal rainfall, convectional rainfall and relief rainfall.

Each lesson includes both interactive areas and teacher led areas. I have used this with Year 7 classes but it could be used with any KS3 class.

The learning objectives for both lessons are as follows:

  • we can identify the 3 types of rainfall
  • we can understand how rainfall occurs
  • we can explain how rain occurs

On each slide the objective being worked on at that time is highlighted to ensure pupils are conscious of their progress at all times.
