This A to Z Flashcards – Cut, Match and Sort resource supports EYFS and KS1 learning across early reading, phonics, alphabet knowledge, colour, shape, pattern, sorting and matching skills.

Each letter of the alphabet is presented on a bright flashcard alongside a matching picture (for example V for violin and M for mouse), helping children make clear letter–sound connections and build early phonics confidence.
The colourful designs encourage visual discrimination and discussion about patterns, shapes and colours, while also supporting vocabulary development.

The resource is flexible: teachers can print, cut, laminate and duplicate the flashcards to create a variety of interactive games, including matching uppercase letters to pictures, sorting by initial sound, or alphabetical ordering activities.

Alternatively, the cards can be used as worksheets, where children practise fine motor skills by cutting out and matching letters to images.
Flashcards are also ideal for making classroom displays or adding to your reading / writing table.

Ideal for whole-class teaching, small groups, continuous provision or interventions, this resource promotes playful, hands-on learning while meeting multiple curriculum objectives.
