ABC Writing Sentences with Symbols

This ABC Sentence with Symbols resource is designed to support KS1 and SEND children in developing early literacy skills.
Each page focuses on a set of letters from the alphabet and includes clear, child-friendly symbols matched with simple words (e.g. matching a rat to the outline word rat).
Children begin by finding the matching word to each picture, tracing the dotted word, and then moving on to writing their own phrase or short sentence, such as ‘a black rat’.
Each page provides six sentence-writing opportunities, encouraging repetition and confidence, with any remaining letters included on a final page (e.g. zip, gull).
