A rigorous and detailed unit focused upon J. B. Priestly's classic 1945 play 'An Inspector Calls'. This unit has been created specifically for the new AQA Paper 2a (Modern Texts) exam to be sat from June 2017. This unit focuses upon analysis of the whole text, punctuated by two practice exam questions (one focused upon character, the other on theme) plus a revision quiz. Students are supported with their essays by planning lessons and sentence starters to help them structure their responses. Students are also given a choice of questions. There is a strong focus upon the analysis of quotations and links with contexts to reflect the 'closed book' style of the new exam.
