Andy Warhol Pop Art Plan

Should last approx. 6 weeks, covering objectives on the NC for Art.

Originally planned for Year 6 however could be adapted for other year groups. Also included are all relevant resources.

Week 1 - Who is Andy Warhol? Initial research lesson.
NC Objective - To develop an awareness of different artists.

Week 2 - Introduction to the blotted line technique.
NC Objectives - To use printing techniques to create a design.
To use key vocabulary to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of printing.
To offer feedback using technical vocabulary

Week 3 - Making tones using black and white with one colour.
NC Objectives - To use black and white to make different tones of one colour.
To be able to describe these colours using appropriate vocabulary.
To learn how to apply paint with increasing control and choose the correct brush size.
To use different types of paint for effect.

Week 4 - Mixing paint and using the blotted line technique to create logos.
NC Objectives - To be able to mix 3 different colours to make a new colour.
To be able to mix any colour needed without help.
To learn how to apply paint with increasing control and choose the correct brush size.
To use different types of pair for effect.

Week 5 - Drawing celebrities/cartoons using the blotted line technique
NC Objectives - To develop an awareness of different artists and how they relate to current learning and purpose.
To use printing techniques to create a design.
To use increasing skill to create more intricate blocks.

Week 6 - Final Piece including Evaluation
NC Objectives - To develop an awareness of different artists and how they relate to current learning and purpose.
To use printing techniques to create a design.
To use increasing skill to create more intricate blocks.
To be able to mix 3 different colours to make a new colour.
To use black and white to make different tones of one colour.
