Angles in parallel lines (Z, F, and X angles)
A very engaging lessons, which my pupils love! The smartboard getts pupils to investigate what is important about given highlighted alternate, corresponding and vertically opposite angles, and why they are the same. Reinforced by finding missing angles via mini-whiteboards. Then a really nice differentiated missing angles card activity where pupils can write their answers and reasoning on a table, and colour in their answers on the answer sheet for self assessment. Finishing off by getting pupils to make the link to sum angles in triangles proof. Aimed at KS3, year 9 middle/lower ability.
