This is the first of three papers for students to practise the exam theme for the 2017 exam paper: 'Self-assembly decoration for a special event'. Students are given a moodboard on the theme of Chinese New Year and are required to develop a design for a self-assembly decoration for this event. Students also gain practise in presenting sequential instructions for assembly, and also a final presentation drawing. A typical evaluation question is included and the students are also tested on their understanding of social, moral, environmental and sustainability issues. The paper includes a markscheme.
