Year 7 Art & Design Scheme of Work.

Lesson objectives that will be learnt are listed below:

 Develop an understanding of mark making and its use in drawing and painting to produce tonal effects.
 Develop their knowledge of, and ability to use several different drawing media
 Develop their understanding of the different qualities that different media possess
 Develop an understanding of the techniques of sgraffito and frottage
 Develop their ability to produce tonal variation through use of layered mark making
 Develop their understanding of primary, secondary and tertiary colours and the colour wheel which will in turn help to develop their understanding of colour mixing
 Develop their understanding of how different shades and tones of colour may be produced
 Develop their understanding of the different types of colours (analogous, complementary, warm and cold) and how these may be used to create different feelings in an image
 Develop their ability to use mark making and colour theory to produce an image.
 To use a view finder effectively to produce a good standard outcome.
 Associate colour with emotions.
 Demonstrate creative design skills and appropriate annotations.
 Investigate and research appropriately and effectively.
