This complete GCSE Edexcel Business lesson introduces the four main customer needs: price, quality and service, choice, and convenience. Students apply these ideas to familiar businesses before developing a contextualised response to a 6-mark analyse question.

The key feature of this resource is the accompanying foldable knowledge organiser. It is designed to be printed double-sided on A3 paper, flipped on the short edge and folded so that the recap questions appear on the front. Students then open it out and use it throughout the lesson to record key knowledge, complete activities and plan their exam response.

The knowledge organiser keeps the learning from the lesson together in one clear resource that students can retain for revision. It also makes it easy to monitor students’ work during the lesson and quickly identify anyone who is not engaging or keeping up.

The resource includes:

  • A 19-slide editable PowerPoint
  • A double-sided, foldable A3 knowledge organiser
  • Retrieval-practice starter with answers
  • Clear explanations of the four main customer needs
  • Relevant examples from recognisable businesses
  • An activity in which students assess how effectively different businesses meet customer needs
  • A scaffolded 6-mark analyse question
  • Guidance on adding business context to exam answers
  • BLTH paragraph structure: Because, Leads to, Therefore and However
  • Modelled answer development
  • Peer and self-assessment opportunities
  • End-of-lesson retrieval questions

This is a ready-to-teach lesson that combines clear subject knowledge, active application and structured exam practice. The foldable knowledge organiser can also be kept by students as a useful revision resource.
