A PowerPoint presentation that talks through the poem Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen. Included in the PowerPoint is:
-Analysis of Language
-Context
-A slide about Pope as early versions of the poem were written for her
-Meaning of the title
-Structure
-Attitudes themes and ideas
-Rhyming scheme
-Poetic Techniques
There is one link included and it leads to a dramatisation of the meeting between Owen and Sassoon during WW1 which is followed by a reading of the poem. This has been added purely as a break for students as revising poems can be quite heavy handed.
Look out for more of the poems in the WJEC anthology book for 2017 coming out soon. Please leave any constructive criticism or positive feedback below and apologies for any mistakes or inaccuracies you may find.
