This is a 10-15 minute assembly for Epilepsy Awareness Day in March 2022. It can also be easily adapted to be used at any other time of the year to raise awarness of epilepsy in your school.

It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grades 6-12) and has been used as a whole school assembly. It could also be used for Upper KS2 (9-10 year olds)

It contains:

  • What epilepsy awareness day is for
  • What epilepsy is
  • A link to the different types of seizures for further study
  • What is epilepsy first aid
  • The three Cs from the Epilepsy Society
  • How we can support people who have epilepsy
  • What to do when a child has a seizure
  • Points to remember
  • 3 short videos that are clipped and downloaded so they will never disappear

It is fully narrated but this can easily be changed by deleting the icon on each slide.

There are no written or discussion activities in this resource; it is purely information and relevant to pupil’s lives. It fits in to the new RSE and Health Curriculum of 2020 and also can be used for PSHE, Citizenship, SMSC or Whole School resource to get students to have a greater awareness and understanding of epilepsy.
