Flexible Problem Solving With Money Y5/ 6

This resource provides all the material for a lesson on problem solving with money and the opportunity to create personalised resources in the future. It contains a ready made worksheet with answers and the opportunity to create your own resources based on buying items in a shop. There is a template shop where you can enter your own prices, or ask your pupils to price items. The question sheet has 3 levels of differentiation and suggestions for further activities. It can be used with the worksheet and with the template. Questions include finding the price of different items, working out what they can afford, calculating change and finding how the price is effected by a 10% sale. They will need to use addition, subtraction and multiplication and work out how to approach multi-step problems in order to complete the most challenging level of activity. Best of all, it is flexible so you can adjust the prices and make the problems easier or more challenging.
