This resource has been designed for students working towards the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Maths who are working at Entry Level 3. It contains an age-appropriate, 56-page workbook and a 160-slide PowerPoint lesson on fractions.

These resources will help students to achieve these outcomes:

work out thirds, quarters, fifths or tenths of an amount, quantity, number
identify equivalent fractions
add and subtract fractions with the same denominator

Workbook

The workbook contains 19 explanation pages, 33 worksheets, 3 progress checks and a certificate of achievement. It is provided in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson explains everything pupils need to know about fractions at Entry Level 3. It provides many examples and opportunities for pupils to practise these skills. It also contains real-life problems that involve working with fractions. The PowerPoint contains links to videos on division and example exam questions. It is ideal for introducing the fraction component of the specification and for revision purposes.
