Word wall classroom decor / display are an effective teaching and learning resource in French class. Students are able to see and engage with written key vocabulary in the everyday learning environment. The word walls provide instant question and answer prompts such as ***Quelle heure est-il ? *** or ***¿À quelle heure finit l’école aujourd’hui ?***, and align well with conversational scenarios like daily routine for example, helping students develop their French speaking skills in particular. To fully maximise the learning potential of word walls and other classroom decor / display, it’s useful to compare and contrast language with students’ first / home language.

There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format, including two header cards *Quelle heure est-il ? and Il est quelle heure ? in each set. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either French flag, which looks great as display / decor, though increases prep costs quite significantly, and plain. Laminate the cards if possible. They will display really well, and also remain excellent condition for years. It’s a good idea to vary word wall and other classroom decor / displays on a regular basis, as this prevents them becoming ‘invisible’ to students.
