An atmospheric French escape room experience that brings Halloween grammar practice to life. Students step inside a haunted house to solve tense-based puzzles and uncover clues — all in French.

Escape room
Learners explore four cinematic rooms, each dedicated to a key tense — the present, perfect, near future and simple future. Behind every door, they’ll find a mix of interactive multiple-choice questions, short translation tasks, and a final grammar riddle to unlock the next stage.

It can be played as a whole-class activity, but students get the most out of it when working individually or in pairs on computers — fully immersed in the sound, visuals and storyline.

Created with detailed cinematic design and authentic French narration, this game transforms grammar revision into a genuinely engaging experience.

What’s included

  • A Genially escape room link (fully interactive and self-running)
  • A printable worksheet for follow-up or homework

Available in PDF and PPTX, colour and black and white.

If you’re planning ahead for the festive season, take a look at my Christmas Escape Room – KS3 French and my upcoming Christmas Escape Room – GCSE French (launching Dec 8).
Both follow the same cinematic format with festive clues and immersive narration to bring Christmas language learning to life.
