Hanukkah

This resource contains a fully editable, simple text, 36-slide PowerPoint presentation and a puzzle pack containing a set of differentiated anagrams, word searches and crossword on Hanukkah -the Jewish Festival of Lights. This is celebrated for eight days, usually between the end of November and the end of December.

The restoration and rededication of the Second Temple.

The miracle of the menorah and its significance.

Hanukkah food - fried food cooked in oil eg latkes and doughnuts

Hanukkah Games - the dreidel, gelt (chocolate coins)

The PowerPoint also contains a link to a short and lively 5-minute video about Hanukkah.

Hanukkah Puzzle Pack

The puzzle pack contains a variety of differentiated worksheets and activities on the Jewish Festival of Hanukkah. There are three differentiated word searches - one challenging, one moderate, one easy with images; three anagram worksheets - challenging, moderate, easy with images and one crossword.

These resources are appropriate for primary pupils and older SEN students and will help to contribute to the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural’ learning (SMSC) and will help to actively promote the British Values of mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
