History 6 Week unit of work on Early Islamic Civilisation in Baghdad around AD900 (Islamic Golden Age) including 6 week plan and Flipchart lesson slides for the 6 weeks.

Intended outcome:
• Understand the chronology of events, including inventions, the empire and civilisation; and identify connections and contrasts over time.
• Understand what the Islamic Golden Age was.
• Understand local, national and international history, making connections between the House of Wisdom and other history units that they have studied.
• Beginning to recognise and describe the nature and extent of diversity, change and continuity and suggest relationships between causes (e.g. by understanding which countries Baghdad AD900 influenced).
Understand the methods of historical enquiry, how to use sources for research and how evidence is used to make historical claims and how our knowledge of the past is constructed from a range of different sources and that different versions of the past often exist.
