KS2 science skeletal system

KS 2 Science Skeletal system has been planned for for KS 2 either lower KS 2 or upper KS 2. The lesson can also be taught for mixed age classes.

Children will be taught to ask own questions about the scientific phenomena of the skeletal system.
Name and describe the functions of the skeletal system.
Learning about the functions of the skeletal system,
There are six functions of the skeletal system:

  • Support and shape
  • Movement of the body
  • Protection
  • Storage of minerals
  • Blood cell production
  • Mineral store

There are a number of links that can be used in the teaching of the skeletal system and links for activities.

A fun lesson, where everyone will learn some great facts about how the skeletal system functions.
