One-off lesson based on a French animated film called ‘Made In France’, to use basic French colors and words for ‘socks, mice, cheese’ in French. It also creates a cultural link with Paris and French cheeses. Looking at a different way to engage your class? Try this lesson to extend student’s curiosity.

My resource is based on the short animated film called ‘Made In France’ (6min) (film is available online.) Synopsis: This is a funny animation trying to answer the mystery of where do socks disappear.

There is very little French spoken, so the film and the fun message are the basis for different activities I created for my year 7 French classes.

The resources are for one lesson in French, aimed at year 7 / KS3:

PPT with 16 slides, answers provided (no answers for the open questions in English)
Worksheet (2 pages) for the tasks seen on the PPT.
Tasks are :
labelling characters / naming colours of socks in French.
comprehension questions (one in French, one in English)
a follow up task (in English) to engage students with the themes.
a cultural insight into French cheese
a short vocabulary plenary

Please leave feedback and also check out my other film-based resources, thanks!
