Making Mini Greeting Cards over the Year

This versatile EYFS and KS1 resource contains 12 sets of mini cards to make across the year: Mixed Set, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, St Patrick’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Thank You Cards, Christmas Cards, New Year Cards and Birthday Cards.
Each set includes 8 full-colour cards on the theme (for example, 8 different Birthday cards), and every design is also replicated in black and white for flexible use.
Children can simply cut out the colour versions to create instant greeting cards or personalise the black-and-white versions by colouring them in for a more creative approach.
The colour cards can be cut out and laminated for sorting activities — children can group them by special days and occasions, link celebrations to seasons and festivals, and use them for discussion-based circle time activities.
The cards can be enlarged for display work or differentiation or kept as ‘mini’ versions for small hands and quick makes.
This is a valuable print-and-go addition to your teacher toolkit, ensuring you always have a ready-to-use resource for a range of celebrations or events throughout the year.
Additional ways to use the resource:
Literacy link: Use the cards as a stimulus for short writing tasks — children can add a sentence, label pictures, write simple greetings, or compose a short message inside, supporting phonics and sentence structure.
Role-play & provision areas: Add laminated cards to a classroom post office or home corner so children can practice writing, addressing envelopes, and delivering mail, promoting communication, social development, and purposeful mark-making.
