A project exploring Matisse’s works and his cut out style. Students link his technique to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic games, creating a contemporary minimal sports poster.
Extending the technique, students progress onto the work of Bernardo Henning, who has influences of Matisse’s shapes and mark making within his designs.
The project can be completed by hand, or digitally using Photoshop.
