Poetry Ideas for Christmas - The Magic Stocking

An idea from Goodeyedeers for children in KS2 to write some great Christmas poetry.

There’s a poem by Kit Wright called The Magic Box. In it, he imagines his box and all the marvellous things he could put in it. In this resource your children are going to write a poem like The Magic Box, only instead of a box, they’ll have a stocking, one that can hold all the magic of Christmas!

This resource includes:

A powerpoint presentation taking the children step by step through the whole process.
A set of Teachers’ Notes which give ideas slide by slide.
A set of four writing frames the children can use for their finished poem.

At the end they will have written a poem about a magic stocking full of all the things they love about their Christmas - it could surprise you.

We would love to know what you think of our resources, so why not leave us a review. And don’t forget to tell all your friends about us.

All the money raised from the sale of our resources is donated to a local northwest charity for children called MedEquip4Kids.
