PowerPoint Lesson

The editable 85-slide PowerPoint clearly explains how to subtract using column subtraction with and without regrouping. It provides may opportunities for pupils to practice this skill. There are also a number of one and two-step word problems involving subtraction. The PowerPoint also contains links to two short videos on how to subtract using the column method.

It is an ideal resource to introduce the subtraction component of the Entry Level 3 specification and for revision purposes.
