Halloween Quiz & Escape Room – KS3 French

Here’s a great pack for a bit of Halloween fun with your Year 7 classes before the holidays! It includes a worksheet, an interactive quiz and a short escape room to revise pets, colours, family, numbers, days and months.

- The worksheet:
includes a match up with vocab, an odd one out, a reading / colouring task, a match up with opinions, a wordsearch, a quick exercise to practise numbers. (This is actually available for free here but I add it to the pack so you have everything in one place).

- The quiz:
accessible with a link and a QR code on the PowerPoint, it includes 12 questions about Halloween to introduce a bit of vocab for the escape room.

- The escape room:
accessible with a link and a QR code on the PowerPoint, it’s incredibly easy for students to use. It has a Halloween design but the 50 questions are actually about what students have studied in the first half term which makes it a fun and meaningful activity. Your students will have to visit 5 haunted house and to answer questions to collect candy.

For your lesson, I recommend you do the match on the worksheet as a starter, then move on to the quiz and escape room (about 10-15 minutes), and finally finish the worksheet.

You could play the quiz and escape room as a class but I think it’s more engaging and meaningful individually or in groups of 2. Students could play on their phones but I recommend using a computer room if available.
