A French taster lesson for Y6 transition, based on food vocabulary and simple opinions, with short activities and games covering reading, listening, writing and speaking.
Students are introduced to ten food words before moving on to basic opinions. The worksheet keeps the language accessible for transition or taster lessons, while giving students plenty of opportunities to recognise, write, repeat and say short French sentences.
What’s included
• A matching activity to introduce key vocabulary
• An exercise introducing opinion sentences with icons
• A sentence-building task using emoji and food icons
• A bingo activity using j’aime / je n’aime pas + food items
• A teacher-led digital randomising wheel for the bingo activity (link on the answer sheet)
• A battleship-style speaking game
• A short partner conversation task
• Two presentation slides for teacher-led repetition or a teacher vs class game
• All answers included
• Available in PDF and editable PPTX, in both colour and black-and-white versions. The supporting presentation is also supplied as PDF and editable PPTX.
