This resource contains a 30+ page Power Point (and pdf ) to guide students through the new Hazard symbols, their names, hazards and controls (precautions) that are needed in each case.
Students have three tasks, a sorting activity, a memory activity and a longer activity which aims for them to think about the hazards, risks and more importantly the controls that need to be put into place to perform the practical safely.
The activity contains:
Four “fake” chemical Hazcard sheets
Four Scenarios to challenge their thinking
Posters of the new Hazard symbols with information on each
Miniplenary to test knowledge gained.
