Sensory and Material Exploration SEND & EYFS

This resource is made for EYFS and SEND children and uses pictures and symbols to support Sensory learning and understanding.

There are then, 3 pages of symbols.
The first two symbol pages show a range of materials using clear pictures and symbols. These include natural materials (leaves, shells), dry materials (oats, pasta), paper and card, fabrics, sensory materials, and other materials such as bubble wrap, plastic and wooden items.
The next page shows 35 describing words with symbols, such as heavy, messy, shiny, muddy, curly, smooth, rough, wet, and sticky.
Each describing word is shown through symbols and pictures, children can point, choose, match, read, write or copy words to describe what they see and feel.
The symbols are in colour but can be printed in black and white if required.
The resource can be duplicated and laminated, added to sensory trays, and used for matching games and vocabulary development, helping children build describing language through hands-on play.
