STORYMAP poem 'There's a Dragon in my garden!' to use for poetry english writing unit in KS1 YEAR 1

I drew this storymap (poemmap) so the children in my Year 1 class could learn the poem off-by-heart. We added actions to help us remember the poem and then acted it out and recited the entire poem from memory. The children really enjoyed learning the poem, and it helped us to invent our own rhyming verse. This could be used with a Year 2 class also, or even Foundation. It went well with out 'What makes England great?' topic this term.

Print the A4 storymap double sided for the chd to learn with a partner or as homework. Enlarge to use for the whole class or copy and paste onto the IWB when learning altogether.
