You will find plenty of vocabulary for students to be able to give opinions on stuff they like and dislike and why (to stretch high attainers), adding recycled language from previous years (free-time activities) on top of what the textbook offers. This baseline test is suitable to quickly get information of the proficiency level of a potential EAL student to inform your teaching. It consists of 100 multiple choice (3) questions. The number of correct answers will inform about your student’s proficiency level (new to English / early acquisition / developing competence / competent / fluent). The test is divided in 3 sections. Section A tests the general understanding of English, e.g. interactions with a question and having to choose the best answer (conventionalisms). A resource created for pupils taking the Edexcel Spanish IGCSE 9-1 exam to train their grammar skills so that they can tackle the 10-point question with confidence and success. This bundle was specifically created for a very able, top set - good news is that it’s easily adaptable and so you can tweak it to your own pupils’ needs. The ppt includes 8 grammar questions (including a range of tenses such as present continous, imperfect tense, present subjunctive) and a cheat sheet for each of them to give pupils the chance to get extra support to look should they need it. Unit 3.1 from Mira express 1 with a variety of activities

This resource includes a 19 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1. This topic is meant to be covered in year 5 (11), but I personally embedded it within the topic 2A (self, family and friends), as it’s very related to this topic. A very complete lesson based on the Mira 2 textbook, unit 1.2 “Mis amigos”, containing a range of different activities to do with your class, not only following the textbook, but offering a range of complimentary activities and extra vocabulary to stretch the most able. It also brings 6 different vocabulary tests.

Vocab to practise module 5 in stimmt 1 textbook: in der stadt in a fun way. This card game includes 18 items of vocabulary and consists of 36 cards that include a place in town image and its name below. But careful! Some are labelled wrong - Students must grab one card and name the place they see before putting it down on a pile in the centre. If the place is labelled wrong and they read it without correcting it, they will have to get all cards from the pile. The winner is the person who runs out of cards. Perfect to review places in town vocabulary and key sounds pronunciation in class.

A 54-slide ppt which covers the relevant language to teach Module 2.1 Que te gusta hacer? from the Viva 1 textbook. Ppt contains plenty of vocabulary to give opinions and talk about free time activities in their infinitive forms at length. It also includes a wide range of adjectives to describe these activities and frequency, always going beyond what the textbook offers. It does not get into verb conjugations at this stage, however it does highlight the 3 different types of infinitives to slowly raise awareness for the next sub-topic. 2 different vocab tests also included. Mega bundle for Kapitel 3 "Bleib gesund”, including all units (1-4) covering the topic of food, drink and healthy living. An extensive (90 slides) powerpoint, containing plenty of activities both from the textbook and created by me, including a lot of extension tasks to stretch high attainers. This 60-slide bundle includes resources for El Patrimonio Cultural module > Sitios historicos y civilizaciones prehispanicas (6.1) AND Arte y arquitectura (6.2) but not for El patrimonio musical (6.3). This bundle includes units 1 to 5 from Module 4 “En casa" in Mira 1. There are a range of activities to do, a lot more than what the textbook offers: extra readings, vocab tests, extra speaking, paragraph ideas, lots of starters and plenaries, printable vocabulary lists, etc. Look at the bottom of each slide to see any notes that might be relevant to understand what to do in a certain activity, extension ideas, etc. This is a breakdown of what you are getting: 1 ppt containing units 4.1 to 4.3 (= ‘Vivimos en Europa’ + ‘Como es tu casa?’ + ‘Las habitaciones’) together = 126 slides. 1 ppt containing unit 4.4 (‘En mi dormitorio’) = 75 slides. 1 ppt containing unit 4.5 (‘Que haces?’) = 58 slides.

A worksheet with a compilation of high frequency phrases in Spanish containing very common mistakes made by English speakers. These errors include: grammar, spelling, word order, gender and number agreements and omitted words. I devised this sheet to raise awareness among my students, with the objective that they won’t make these mistakes in their GCSE exam!! Answers included, at the end of the document. It should keep them busy for some time!

This bundle includes units 1 to 5 from "Mis vacaciones" unit in Mira 2. There are a range of activities to do in the classroom and also a few grammar worksheets, vocabulary tests for each unit at the end of every ppt presentation and a few slides that are meant to be dice pair games.

A translation maze inspired on the language from pages 86 and 87 on the Viva 1 textbook, topic ‘como es tu casa o piso?’ (module 4.4). All instructions are on the resource, and should be displayed and explained to students before starting to play. Aim: to find your way out of the maze by shading a path of correct answers. You get out when your path connects the entrance with the exit boxes. If you don’t know this activity it has, in essence, the same principle as a bingo. It takes quite some time to run, as there are 18 different questions/rounds and children get very excited by shading the boxes and counting how many left they need to shade before they get out of the maze! The teacher should then check the answers (all included) of any child claiming to have got out of the maze: note they should be perfect or close to perfect translations to be able to call a winner. If you were to get through the 18 rounds and no one has managed to get out of the maze (unlikely), go back to question 1 and get them to translate the opposite sentence until someone can win. This activity tends to work wonders with any age group and is a nice alternative to bingo. It’s also easily editable - you might find the sentences I’ve used are too challenging for your class.
