It covers the present tense regular and main irregulars, and contains slides to practise all these. Check out the bottom notes on each slide - often you will find instructions to tasks.

This resource includes a 174 slide ppt presentation I prepared to teach the new Edexcel International GCSE 9-1 for my Year 4 group. As the textbook isn’t great, I created many extra resources to combine with working on the textbook. It comes with two extra reading activities I made up to extend my students, two versions of vocabulary tests to be done at the end of every-subsection, and overall a good range of activities that train the 4 skills, and grammar. There are writing activities that match Q6 and Q7 from the specification as well. There is at least 1 grammar question resembling the grammar paper in the spec, too. Listening activities usually bring answers and transcripts to be displayed. I have also attached the list of vocabulary provided by the textbook for the Unit 1 Everyday life at home and school, corresponding to sections 1A to 1D, ALREADY FILLED IN WITH THE TRANSLATIONS for students to use as revision if you dont want to spend time from the lesson/homework to get them to write them down. On my online shop you will find most of the textbook topics belonging to this spec.

An extensive (90 slides) powerpoint, containing plenty of activities both from the textbook and created by me, including a lot of extension tasks to stretch high attainers. NOTE: look at the bottom of the slides (not in presentation mode) for instructions on what to do in each activity.

A translation maze inspired on the language from pages 104 and 105 on the Viva 2 textbook, topic ‘que tipo de casa prefieres?’ (module 5.1). All instructions are on the resource, and should be displayed and explained to students before starting to play. Aim: to find your way out of the maze by shading a path of correct answers. You get out when your path connects the entrance with the exit boxes. If you don’t know this activity it has, in essence, the same principle as a bingo. It takes quite some time to run, as there are 18 different questions/rounds and children get very excited by shading the boxes and counting how many left they need to shade before they get out of the maze! The teacher should then check the answers (all included) of any child claiming to have got out of the maze: note they should be perfect or close to perfect translations to be able to call a winner. If you were to get through the 18 rounds and no one has managed to get out of the maze (unlikely), go back to question 1 and get them to translate the opposite sentence until someone can win. This activity tends to work wonders with any age group and is a nice alternative to bingo. It’s also easily editable - you might find the sentences I’ve used are too challenging for your class. A lesson I created for my AS group to be able to give in favour / against arguments based on new technologies. Its quite of an interactive lesson, with 2 different speaking activities, a reading, a matching and a grammar activity. It also comes with a lesson plan.
