If you enjoy using novels in your classroom small reading groups, or for homework than this resource was made just for you! There is a little back story into why I started creating this product.
My curriculum director popped into my classroom and told me I was unable to use novels in my reading enrichment group because they weren't being used to go "deep enough" into the text in preparation for my kids to enter 3rd grade. My students were crushed and so was I. I wanted to continue to use these novels while meeting the needs my district required.
This resource will allow your students to continue reading those novels you LOVE to get through each year WHILE targeting your VOCABULARY and TEXT BASED EVIDENCE needs.
This resource includes:
* TEXT BASED EVIDENCE comprehension questions for each chapter
* INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK pages for your students to work through the VOCAB
for each chapter
* a GLOSSARY that can be used inside the notebook or just for teacher purposes
* vocabulary ASSESSMENTS for each chapter with ANSWER KEYS
* vocabulary POCKET CHART cards for the teacher to use as a reference
* WORD SEARCH with ANSWER KEY
The text based evidence component has about 2 questions per chapter. The students will read a sentence and will support this statement from the text by finding the evidence and citing the page number.
