Workforce Planning and Recruitment

The latest in the new series of PowerPoint resources aimed at assisting teachers with the delivery of the WJEC/Eduqas A-level Business specification (but are suitable for all boards). These slides and hand out are designed to support the delivery of the Component One topic of workforce planning and recruitment. They explain what is meant by workforce planning before evaluating its impact and importance on a business and the value of having the correct number of employees with appropriate skills and experience. It then considers the processes involved in the recruitment of new staff. It explains what is meant by internal and external recruitment and the benefits and drawbacks of these methods, before examining job analysis, job descriptions and person specifications. It finally evaluates appropriate methods of selecting different types of employee for different types of job including interviews, work trials, testing, selection exercises and telephone interviews. The slides contain the Quick Fire Five questions and also a practice essay (both with solutions). The pack also contains a free set of student revision notes.
