Year 8 Spanish Free Time Lesson 2

A complete Year 8 Spanish lesson building on free time vocabulary by introducing frequency phrases such as a menudo, a veces, todos los dias, casi nunca and cuando hace buen/mal tiempo. This 11-slide PowerPoint develops students’ ability to say how often they do activities and add weather-dependent detail to their sentences.

The lesson opens with a retrieval starter recapping juego, hago and voy, then moves into clear grammar input on sentence patterns with frequency phrases. Students practise through mini whiteboard translations, a battleships speaking game in pairs, and a reading comprehension task based on a character called Leo. A longer reading comprehension about Sofia provides further challenge.
