Year 9 Spanish: Technology Reading and Writing

A second Year 9 Spanish lesson pack on technology (la tecnología) designed to build on prior vocabulary and push pupils into longer written answers. Covers mobile phones, social networks, online safety, and the pros and cons of living life online. Works as a standalone lesson, as homework, or as high-quality cover work when you need pupils working independently.

The tasks move from a short reading passage in Spanish through comprehension questions, translation exercises, and into a structured writing frame where pupils express opinions about technology using justifications and connectives. Useful vocabulary and sentence starters are included so lower-ability pupils can still access the writing task, while stretch prompts push the most confident learners into more complex structures.

Clear instructions throughout make this ideal for non-specialist teachers, supply staff or TAs. Pupils work independently and leave with a full page of written evidence.

Differentiation is built in: early tasks support pupils who need scaffolding, later tasks challenge more confident learners to produce paragraph-length responses.
