Resource title: Drills generator
Resource author: hingie
What is it?
While I used to be sceptical, I am now fully converted to the benefits of drilling. With intelligent and varied questions, this technique can be a simple way of cementing core skills. But providing engaging practice can often be a challenge. Thankfully, this generator does exactly that.
Consisting of an easy-to-use spreadsheet, this particular exercise focuses on multiplying and dividing by powers of 10. Aimed at Year 7 pupils but easily adaptable to a variety of ages, alternative questions are created simply by pressing shift-F9.
How can it be used?
As with most activities consistent use is key, so I’d suggest implementing this once or twice a week as a lesson starter.
With regular practice, learners' competency and confidence will grow, standing them in good stead for any topic that relies on a strong sense of number.
