Mes vacances et ma passion-Les Alpes

Mes vacances et ma passion-Les Alpes

I tried to select a nice topic and theme to teach and revise various skills and grammatical aspects . It links to Expo3 ( la Normandie ) rouge with the discovery of an area but I jaust added more on this so students get to compare areas and see how varied France is. I will add more through a different power point and add worksheets , this is taking ages .... hope it helps. I used the interactive quiz with the gap fill as a little starter and introduction about the Alps before showing the Power Point.

Town research project for KS3/KS4 French - Ma ville préférée

Town research project for KS3/KS4 French - Ma ville préférée

This is a research project lesson (or two lessons really) that I created for my year 8 French students. It can also be used for year 9 as the model answer has quite a list of grammar / some more can be added. The idea is to promote independent learning via research. There are two choices: a documentary about your favourite town in England (in my case it is Manchester) or an interview with a football player about his town in France( I chose Paris). Students decide on the task, the roles and start researching relevant information using their iPads (one of the students needs to summarise the information that others found). They then have to prepare a script in French and to make a video using iMovie or any other video application. If there is little time I would suggest them to present it and I would film it. The whole process takes about 2 lessons and is perfect for the end of the topic as you can incorporate all of the structures / vocabulary learned during the term!

GCSE FRENCH - Travel and Tourism 2 (Geography) - COLOUR MATCH

GCSE FRENCH - Travel and Tourism 2 (Geography) - COLOUR MATCH

This is a colour match exercise to practise vocabulary from the AQA syllabus. Students find a pair which mean the same, in English and French. They then colour them the same colour. If they run out of colours they could use stripes, spots etc. If you are short on time they could number the boxes instead of colouring them in. The second sheet is for students to fill in the words as they find them and then to use as a vocab list. This is useful for a starter, a cover lesson or a homework

France - quiz

France - quiz

This PowerPoint activity is for Years 7-9 which have France as the country they will represent on Sports Day. They will be doing a range of activities in form time, including this quiz, learning about one specific aspect of cultural interest, doing an introduction into the language ( they don't all learn France, listening to the national anthem and perhaps trying to learn a couple of chants. We have 11 form entry so 3 forms have France (Y7,8,9) and there are 10 other countries. Could be useful for the World Cup.

Les pays et les villes (Countries and cities) 3 lessons! Y5 4th Grade

Les pays et les villes (Countries and cities) 3 lessons! Y5 4th Grade

This topic is about the countries and cities in French. Children will learn how to say where they live and ask someone where they live. They will also identify the flag for each country (In total 30 countries and 17 cities are seen in the presentations). This topic is also good for learning geography and flags but children should already know the main countries and cities in the world beforehand (in English) otherwise they might be lost. It is for children starting 9 years old (Y5 - 4th Grade) but can be done up to age 11 (Y6 - 5th Grade) even in secondary school. The powerpoint presentations are a bit heavy as there are lots of sounds in them. This topic will last 3 weeks (1 hour lesson per week). There are lots of activities, dialogues and games. The 5 skills (listening, understanding, speaking, writing and reading) are all present. With cute and happy cartoons, the topics are adapted for children and motivate them to learn French while having fun! It is made for teachers who speak French but also those who don't! They are all very easy to follow. The lesson plan and audio sounds of the vocabulary are there to help you learn and pronounce the words beforehand! It includes:- 3 Powerpoint presentations- 1 lesson plan- 1 lesson sheet ( with all the key vocabulary: for the children to stick in their books)- 1 HA worksheet (Assessment)- 1 LA worksheet (Assessment)- 1 Card game to laminate- 1 word search- 3 Smartboard activities (Smart Notebook software)- Audio clips of vocabulary (in the powerpoints to practice beforehand)- Information documents (About, Advice and tips, Copyright)
