GCSE SPANISH - Free Time Activities - Sport - COLOUR MATCH

GCSE SPANISH - Free Time Activities - Sport - COLOUR MATCH

This is a colour match exercise to practise vocabulary from the AQA syllabus. Students find a pair which mean the same, in English and Spanish. They then colour them the same colour. If they run out of colours they could use stripes, spots etc. If you are short on time they could number the boxes instead of colouring them in. The second sheet is for students to fill in the words as they find them and then to use as a vocab list. This is useful for a starter, a cover lesson or a homework

Spanish health healthy living vocabulary reading comprehension GCSE / la salud la vida sana

Spanish health healthy living vocabulary reading comprehension GCSE / la salud la vida sana

Resources to introduce this topic for GCSE or G&T KS3. It is nicely scaffolded beginning with key infinitives, then sentences, then A* language constructions and translation both ways. There is an exam style reading and some writing tasks which introduce the future tense at the end. Pupils should be able to talk about leading a healthy lifestyle with the help of these resources.

AQA GCSE 2016 Spec 3.3 F Que deporte haras

AQA GCSE 2016 Spec 3.3 F Que deporte haras

This resource is linked to the AQA Spanish GCSE 2016 Spec. However, it can be used within any board / area in which you would like to introduce / practise the concept of sport (vocabulary) and how to use the different verbs (jugar, hacer, practicar, ir...) that go along in Spanish. The resource has several activities that can be used as a whole or individually. If used as a whole, it should cover approx. 50 to 60 minutes of teaching. The activities have been designed for a "foundation" level but higher vocabulary and expressions are used in order to cater for all pupils.

Spanish sports & opinions - Deportes

Spanish sports & opinions - Deportes

These are resources in Spanish for a full lesson on Sports. The posters I stuck around the room and go with the reading worksheet. The plenary I made myself using the 2 stars and a wish idea and was a great way to end using AFL. I introduced the vocabulary without the written word initially (that's why no words on powerpoint slides) but then I used the match up cognate table to introduce them. (I cut these up for students to work in pairs). Easily adapted to other languages

Hobbies and Sports. Vocabulary and giving opinions.

Hobbies and Sports. Vocabulary and giving opinions.

I have successfully used this ppt with students from Year 2 to Year 4. The presentation is divided in two main topics: hobbies and Sports. Each slide contains pictures linked to the vocabulary which supports the lessons. The main learning objectives are: 1) to name the main hobbies and sports in Spanish (supported by flashcards and games). 2) To form sentences with the expressions ¨I like- me gusta¨ and ¨I don't like - no me gusta¨. 3) To give opinions about the hobbies and sports using adjectives in Spanish (¨fun- divertido¨ , ¨boring-aburrido ¨, etc.).The presentation contains activities aimed to different age levels. On a first level the students can learn the vocabulary linked to the pictures and try to match them. Once they can name the pictures independently, the use of symbols helps them to form sentences with ¨like¨ , ¨love¨ and ¨detest¨. On a second level I introduce the adjectives to give opinions. First in English and then through a matching activity in which they will discuss the right answers with their partners. On a third level all the vocabulary and sentence forming practise wil come together, always supported by images and symbols.Children with different learning abilities may profit of the visual aids and working in partners. Also team work is encourage through competitive activities.Apart from the ppt, I have used flashcards and mini white boards to work the writing aspect.

NEW Edexcel GCSE Schemes of Work

NEW Edexcel GCSE Schemes of Work

Please feel free to download and adapt these SoW for the new Edexcel GCSE (Sept 09). The "TSL" column is an internal thing at my school and can be edited etc. I have done a dated week-by-week timetable. Hope these help. I'm still in the process of polishing them up but they are fine in this good-as-dammit version.
