Y6 Maths Revision PPT

Y6 Maths Revision PPT

A powerpoint I made to use with my Y6s before SATS. Briefly covers most topics/strands. As the children work through the questions on whiteboards you can see which areas they are struggling with and pose additional questions. I used it as a quiz - they solved each question independently then discussed with a partner and agreed on a solution. The pairs then scored points.

Area and Perimeter problem to solve

Area and Perimeter problem to solve

Lesson plan, LSA notes, IWB lesson, Walt and Wilf. Using a real life problem find rectangles that have the same area but different perimeters. Unless the children have studied the concepts it may need to be tackled over a couple of lessons. Lots of items to move to show the answers. The four folders go together to form 1 complete lesson. I really enjoyed this work and so did the children. Hope you do to. This is the first thing I have put on here Please leave me a rating who knows it may make me brave enough to share some other items. Thanks

Area and Perimeter KS2 Compound and Problems

Area and Perimeter KS2 Compound and Problems

This is a test style document that I used to assess my year 5's after teaching an area and perimeter unit. I made this myself to assess exactly what they had learned; simple area and perimeter of 2D shapes, word problems involving area and perimeter and area and perimeter of compound shapes including finding missing lengths/widths. This doesn&'t have to be used as a test, feel free to steal some of the questions for your lessons! Enjoy!
