Pupils learn to describe a situation where an athlete may experience a conflict between the requirements of their religious belief and the demands of their sport, to identify and explain any religious beliefs/practices associated with the potential conflict and to discuss factors that will influence choices for a person facing such a conflict. The resource can be used with S1/S2/S3 classes (Scotland) or year 7/8/9 (England) and it is designed to last 1-2 periods. Pupils are encouraged to debate, to express their own opinions and to think more deeply about this topic.
