DCF for Primary

DCF for Primary

Rob-bot Resources presents a complete guide to support primary school teachers in the delivery of the Digital Competency Framework (DCF) in Wales.Following the Donaldson Report (2015), the need to improve digital competency within students across Wales was identified as being as important to the development of students as literacy and numeracy. This document provides practical solutions as to how primary teachers of years 3-6 can confidently deliver these requirements across a broad range of subjects. Where possible I have included "unplugged" solutions, i.e those that don't require a computer to fulfill the requirements, so that teachers of all backgrounds can feel confident in the delivery of the framework.***Please leave a review! ***

SMSC- Spiritual- £2 assembly

SMSC- Spiritual- £2 assembly

A £2 assembly ideal for giving some key messages to large groups in a short space of time. This is an 8 slide presentation with a two page Word document of key notes. The 8 slides create a visual focus but it is the key notes that provide some real content. This assembly would ideally suit a public speaker that has the time to read the key notes beforehand and ad-lib where needed. The presentation with key notes should last around 10 minutes so can be done as a short assembly or be filled out with relevant school notices or further discussion. There includes some suggestions for asking pupils in the audience to volunteer answers, which will help increase levels of engagement. The assembly considers how many religions and belief systems exist in the world. It moves on to ask what pupils believe to be the best musical instrument and highlights how this belief is something that not everyone will agree on. The two are linked through the idea that pupils' individual beliefs should be respected, and they should respect the beliefs of others. Key notes support the guidance provided by OFSTED for the SMSC agenda.

Different Types of Houses - shapes and materials

Different Types of Houses - shapes and materials

This is a story that can be made into a book - it has 12 spreads. The tutorial talks in first person of a child, who introduces different types of houses across the world. Use this to initiate conversations about why we live where we live, why do some people choose to live on stilts, in tents, and in igloos? General Election 2017 Political Party Decision Maker Activity

General Election 2017 Political Party Decision Maker Activity

What a general election is, what parliament is and the process of campaigning. Discussion of a lack of participation nationally and also age group e.g. 18-24 over 50% don't vote. There is then a comparison of how this effects policy - what older voters get and therefore what the youth don't. There is then a set of 9 questions on key topics to do with the election looking in to Europe, immigration, education, tax and the economy and nuclear defence. They then make a decision - moving from one side of the classroom to the other to support there yes/no. They then have to record their thoughts and why. After that, the different political parties view is shared and they count up overall who they agree with.
