Miracles - Lesson 6 - Hulme and Miracles - Philosophers' attitudes to miracles - Empiricism

Miracles - Lesson 6 - Hulme and Miracles - Philosophers' attitudes to miracles - Empiricism

This lesson has the pupils engage with the understanding of David Hume's view on miracles. Pupils must become sceptics and can analyse either a traditional miracle or a modern religious miracle. Pupils will look at the works of other philosophers and relate the views researched to their own personal views regarding miracles. The lesson offers different tasks depending on whether you wish to develop your pupils' reading skills or analysis skills. There is a differentiated written task at the end which has pupils evaluate miracles and utilise all the knowledge they have learnt in the lesson. This lesson includes: Differentiated Tasks. Key Vocabulary. Analysis Work. SMSC Skills. Analysis of Religious Teachings. Analysis of Philosophical Views. Application of Knowledge and Development of Personal Views. As a dedicated professional I take a lot of pride in the work I create, most of which I have offered on TES free of charge. My free lessons and resources come mostly with 4.5+ star ratings and to be sure of their quality you're welcome to download them. I offer my charged lessons at the minimum amount as I do not believe in extorting my peers but at the same time I am a professional looking to make ends meet.

Critical Religious Education introduction parts 1 & part 2 + investigations (Bundle)

Critical Religious Education introduction parts 1 & part 2 + investigations (Bundle)

Built on the work and ideas of the team at King's College London, this is the second part to a unit introducing students to the pedagogy of CRE. It guides students to think critically about religions and worldviews, not critically of them. I've used it with 7, 8 and 9 and students have enjoyed the discussion and the abstract reasoning in each lesson. Also included is an alternative (and very fun) project, themed on X files - Students critically investigate evidence for the paranormal.

Conscience - Unit Guide and Presentations

Conscience - Unit Guide and Presentations

This is a great value bundle, especially if you are new to this topic or are looking for a resource which covers the whole topic on conscience. It includes: *Detailed notes on the a range of key scholars. *Fully customisable front page with room for the specification content, exam questions and reading that needs to be done - perfect for independent learning in pupils. (you can also customise the rest!) *A range of presentations that tie in with the handout. I've include in this bundle an interactive unit guide which covers the key scholars expected in most syllabuses and includes brief tasks which challenge pupils to get to grips with the key issues. I have been teaching this topic for 12 years now and pupils love the confidence having such a resource can give them. I hope you might find them useful too!
