This is an Editable Spanish Easter Quiz with 50 QUESTIONS that will take your students through the cultural aspects of Semana Santa and test their knowledge on the holiday. The quiz has 5 rounds (verdadero/falso, multiple choice, fill in the blank, translations + ¿Qué hay en la foto?) and they cover different aspects of La Pascua such as traditions, celebrations and food. Each question has an automatic 45s timer and students get an answer sheet to write down their answers. The quiz can be done individually but also in teams to encourage some healthy competition! WHAT YOU GET: *1 PowerPoint with the quiz, student instructions and answers included which you can edit however you like. If you want to add questions or change the text size you can! La Semana Santa en España This resource is suitable for KS3 Spanish students (Years 7, 8 and 9). Easy to adapt as you like. This attractive PPT (32 slides) helps students to learn about la Semana Santa while having fun. It includes many opportunities for learns to talk, share their opinions and compare different ways to celebrate this festival. It includes: Round 1: ice breaker activities to introduce the festival. Round 2: guess who/what is your classmate describing (cut-out descriptions included) + two short videos. Round 3: quiz based on TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

I have attached: A PPT - It has games and explanations in English and the main vocabulary is in Spanish. Keep an eye out for links to videos (procession and the song) - It has a few games ready made and prizes you can give along the way. Also attached is a Capirote cut out that they can decorate during class(KS3), I usually give a prize to the best one. I use this lesson as a Festival lesson with KS4. And a glossary with what these words mean (KS4) - The glossary was shared by another teacher. NOTE: Now, when the children see the outfits, they usually say it looks like they are part of the Klu Klux Klan: I always explain to them that the KKK copied the idea (to hide their faces) from these outfits that have been around since the 13th century. Historically the CAPIROTE was used as a sign of humiliation and was used by the ones being punished by the church, in time the Spanish brotherhoods (Cofradias) took it on as a penance for their sins.
