MUSIC GENRES CALENDAR 2023-24

UPDATE – Due to the large number of complaints about dead links – I have checked every one on 2 separate devices. I have found and have repaired one Dead Link. Please use the Playlist link below as it has every video in sequence – I can only apologize if any problems continue, but I have done everything possible to rectify your concerns. I have replaced the original document with the updated version. Hopefully the issue is fixed, but I honestly couldn’t find an obvious one This is the 2nd Year of the calendar and still at its simplest level the purpose of this calendar is to offer a wide-ranging selection of music: different styles, genres, origins, artists, historical periods and so on. As part of an interesting and robust music curriculum, children need to hear and experience music and musical styles and artists that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to hear. The idea was to create a calendar of a song a day. 190 school days… 190 songs. These songs could be used in whatever way the user thinks best – on entry to the classroom in the morning, as assembly music, as a calming session after breaktimes of lunchtimes, or as an introduction to a music lesson. This resource includes this year’s calendar AND last year’s - 2 years of music - for £2! This year I am asking a nominal fee of £2, for a complete resource that will last you all year. I am proud of the product and feel that for the extensive hours spent creating it £2 is well worth it!

AQA Norman England - 2024 Historic Environment Scheme

(2)
Complete set of lessons and resource for the Norman England 2024 Historic Environment. The lessons have been designed around the concept of change: However, these could be easily adapted if you believe the concept will be different. E.g. Q4: ‘The main change brought about the conquest was the increased use of Normans to control areas of land.’ We teach these lessons stand alone before the control section so lessons give a small opportunity to teach the basics on these topics like castles etc. Lesson 1 - Why did Wales present issues for the Normans? Lesson 2 - How did William secure the Welsh border? Lesson 3 - How did the Marcher Earls exploit Wales and challenge William? Lesson 4 - How did the Marcher Earls use castle to subdue the Welsh? Lesson 5 - How did towns grow in Wales due to the Marcher Earls? Lesson 6 - Synoptic: What was the main change brought about by the Normans in Wales? Knowledge Organiser Sheet Each lesson starts with a retrieval grid which can be easily populated with questions from your topics.

Americas and Drake's Circumnavigation Revision Guide

(1)
Historic Environment Question for 2024 This nine page Revision Guide is aimed at students to help study, organise, revise and be prepared for the AQA GCSE 9-1 Elizabethan England 1568-1603 Historic Environment question for 2024. I have included 6 possible questions for GCSE exam practice on the themes I believe stand out in the literature provided. Within the guide itself, I have broken down the main details of the Americas and Drake’s circumnavigation into manageable chunks. This guide focuses on the main concepts prescribed by AQA. For example it examines the location of the New World and its growing importance for Drake and his fellow navigators, the function and structure of seafaring as new navigational techniques and ship design allowed more exploration. It will also analyse the people connected to Drake’s circumnavigation including Sir John Hawkins and Diego as well as giving information on Drake and the different interpretations of him at the time. Furthermore the culture, values and fashions connected with Drake’s circumnavigation are examined as untold riches such as feathers, pearls, jewels and gold became essential accessories for the fashionistas of Elizabethan England. Finally important events are linked to Drake’s voyages from his initial slave excursions to his revenge attacks on Spanish shipping and his circumnavigation, as well focusing on the detailed maps and illustrations in his diaries and journals of new lands he discovered. All the information and more included is advised by AQA through their Paper 2: Shaping the nation resource pack guidance. I have also gained a brilliant insight into the Americas and Drake’s circumnavigation from renowned historians such as Ben Johnson, Miranda Kaufman and the superb Professor Jowett, as well as numerous other sources, including the fabulous BBC History Today magazine and podcasts. The resource comes in PDF and Word formats if you wish to adapt and change. Any reviews on this resource which would be much appreciated.
