A selection of lessons aimed to help students understand the SDME exam specifically for OCR B. As the paper is now an unseen resource some example questions have been put into the lessons.

I made this for my year 9 class who are GCSE for the AQA A specification. It is the first two lessons for starting to look at development. As the students start the GCSE in year 9, I have made the topic more based around exam practise.

A PowerPoint I deliver to my students just before the exam. It contains advice on answering types of questions and has all three of the revision PowerPoint's for the physical paper in (restless earth, water on the land and coastal zone) just encase they want to double check anything before going into the exam.

An introduction lesson to earthquakes.

A lesson looking at the distribution of earthquakes and volcanoes across the world.

A lesson looking at natural hazards in general and where they occur around the world.

A lesson that looks at the structure of the earth and the two types of crust.

When printed onto A3 students play against each other to see who can answer the most questions under the clock or who can finish the whole board first. Students write their answers on post-it notes so that the boards can be used again and again.

Topic front covers for students for the new AQA Geography specification. So far I have created one for the Physical landscapes in the UK, the Living world and the challenge of resource management (focus on water). Each front cover has a page for the students targets, what they need to know for the section of the course, the homework questions with space to record the grade they achieved and the topic vocabulary.

Two assessment lessons on FairTrade. One looks at re-capping what they have learnt about FairTrade and looking at ideas of sustainable development. The other moves on to look at peer assessing each others work, with an example of a pupils work to look at.

A DIRT review sheet for the ecosystems and urban challenges section of the SAMS paper. This sheet was designed to help my students improve the answers that they got wrong as a class, so will probably need adapting to be used with other classes. The document is saved as a pdf as it contains different fonts.

A PowerPoint which goes through the mark scheme in a student friendly way for the 2012 paper. Question 7d is from the 2015 paper.

AQA A GCSE specification lesson looking the stages of development.

For the AQA A specification module on tourism. This lesson teaches students the stages of the Butler model and how to apply the case study of Blackpool to it.

Lesson 2 in a series of lessons on volcanoes and earthquakes. The students play information race in teams. There is also a SEN version of the game.
