Learning mat for a Higher Triple Science Chemistry set. Tasks includes: Fill in the blanks for the method with a keywords bank and finish the equation. Give an example of a indicator with colour change and the difference between accurate and precision. Explaining why universal indicator is not ideal for this practical. Identifying hazards and risks Identifying the difference between strong and weak acid and give examples of this Identifying key areas of accuracy within the practical Writing ionic equations of titrations.

Used as a revision resource for Year 7 at the end of the Chemistry Particle model. Should be used as a group activity or in pairs. Separated into Filtration, Evaporation, Chromatography and Distillation. Mark Scheme is included within this resource. When I did this with my top set Year 7 class, I gave them 15 minutes to complete this within groups of three, and got them to mark it for 6 minutes (max) and gave them exam style questions straight afterwards. Then I rewarded the winning team. There are a range of different formats of questions from Fill in the blanks Label the equipment Label which is has more solubility on the diagram. Exam style questions True or False.

A differentiated Learning mat meant to support a class with a different range of abilities. Presented in a Nando’s format to test the level of spiciness, from Lemon and Lime to Extra Hot. Mark Scheme is provided with this task for the children to mark themselves and the highest number of points will lead to the winning team. Meant to be used for a fun group work activity and there is a space to create a fun team name within the class. Different levels of ‘spice’ tasks included: Lemon and Lime: Evaporation and Filtration: fill in the blanks, label and draw the equipment, cross out the correct key word and TRUE/FALSE. *** MIld*** Chromatography: Fill in the blanks, label the different phases. Answer recall questions and finally simple exam questions. Hot: Distillation: Fill in the blanks, comparing the different apparatus, exam style questions ***Extra Hot *** Exam style question which uses different skills from particles to apply their knowledge.
