8Bd Fertilisation and dispersal. This lesson include a recap on pollination and introduces fertilisation and dispersal.
The master slide include outcomes for lower and higher ability pupils.
This lesson is easily adapted to scaffold for lower students or extend higher ability pupils.
The resource includes a detailed and engaging lesson PowerPoint with differentiated activities, activity sheet and quizzes for students to complete.
There is a total of 15 slides including the differentiated tasks.
Electric circuit symbol game/ Spot it electric symbol recall
This resource is an excellent way to test the students memory on circuit symbols. This game contains all GCSE circuit symbols.
How to play:
Spot it! consists of 13 cards, with 4 symbols per card (you can print the set double for a longer and more challenging activity)
Each card contains symbols from GCSE circuit symbols.
There is only one identical symbol in common between each card, it is up to you to find out which one.
-Each person playing is dealt a pile of cards that they look at. A central card is placed between all the players. So if you are playing, you are looking at the top card in your pile of cards and trying to find the image that it shares with the central card.
-Now everyone is trying to find the images that matches the new central card. The goal of the game is to get rid of all your opponents cards.
Another variation works basically like SET. You place nine cards in a 3x3 grid in the center of the table. Then everyone looks for a set of three cards that all share the same image. If you spot a set, you keep those three cards. It’s a bit more challenging than finding a single shared image, but still very accessible for young kids
CC15 Activity/Worksheet Endo-Exothermic reactions
Fun activity on Exo-and Endothermic reactions. This activity allows student to choose what they would like of the menu in order to make up 6 flames. The amount of flames are added to the difficulty of each question.
Cells Dobble/Spot it Game
A great game to recall cell organelles and to get students engaged. This game could be played in different ways and can be played with KS3 students who are new to the topic of cells or KS4 that would need to be reminded of the organelles along with their function.
This resource include 18 cards that contain 4 cell organelles on each. It also contains the function of the cells along with instructions on how to play the game with different variations.
Bunsen burner license
Bunsen burner license as an incentive for students who can safely use the bunsen burners in a lab. There are two variants of this document. The first one allows a box in the top left corner add the schools logo. The second one is just plain.
Bunsen Burner License for Students
Purpose: The Bunsen Burner License certifies that a student has demonstrated the necessary knowledge, skills, and safety practices required to responsibly and effectively use a Bunsen burner in laboratory settings.
Requirements: To obtain a Bunsen Burner License, students must:
Understand Safety Procedures: Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety goggles, lab coats, and heat-resistant gloves. Recognize the hazards associated with open flames and flammable materials.
Ignition and Flame Control: Safely ignite and adjust the flame, including setting the appropriate flame type (blue or yellow) for various experiments.
Handling and Operation: Demonstrate proper handling techniques, such as securely connecting the burner to the gas source and turning it off safely.
Emergency Protocols: Understand emergency procedures, including what to do in case of a gas leak, fire, or burns.
Evaluation: Students will be assessed on:
Correctly following lab safety protocols.
Ability to light and adjust the flame safely.
Knowledge of handling and storing the equipment properly.
Understanding of emergency response actions.
Duration: The license is valid for one academic year and must be renewed with an updated safety review.
This license ensures students are well-prepared to use Bunsen burners safely and responsibly in lab environments.
