The lessons include: Developing Question 4 skills using extracts from ‘The Masque of the Red Death’; introduction to the requirements for Question 5; guidance for planning a descriptive piece of writing. I wrote this 5 week scheme of work for my GCSE English group. They were struggling with narrative writing and so I wanted to inspire with them with some effective short story writing. So who better than the master of the macabre - Roald Dahl? In this series of lessons students read a range of his stories and many of the tasks are linked to revising key skills that will be used in their Language exams. Included here are the Week 2 lessons.
