I train the pupils in my class to attach one of these self assessment strips to each piece of work that they complete. Each pupil staples the horizontal strip with the three different faces on to every piece of work when they have completed it. These booklets are colourful, attractive and brilliant to use with your new class in September. The children are able to practise writing their address etc whilst at the same time helping you to get to know them. The pupils have to record previous learning (AFL) - 5/6 things that they achieved in their previous class. They create 'thought showers' and tables to record their likes and dislikes. They are then asked to set themselves targets to achieve by the end of the term and the end of the year. These booklets are then reffered to and completed during the school year.
