KS3 KS4 Waves - Reflection and Refraction (AQA Specification)
Waves content. This is based on a KS3 scheme of work, but can be used for AQA Combined Science - Waves. Starter task is a ‘Blast from the past’, an activity to help recall content from the AQA specification and previous learning. Learning objectives and learning Outcomes are provided along with skills that should be covered within the lessons. Assessment is provided along with what to do with that assessment after. Finally, the lesson is finished with a ‘Show of your skills’.
Set up with school layout. Colours represent a target grade (Purple -1, Lilac - 2, Dark Blue - 3, Light Blue - 4, Dark Green - 5, Light Green - 6, Yellow - 7, Orange - 8, Red - 9). This can easily be adapted.

This is the second lesson for the Forces and their interactions AQA Trilogy course. I have split the forces unit into two sections, Forces and their interactions and Forces and motion. Starter task is a ‘Blast from the past’, an activity to help recall content from the AQA specification and previous learning. Learning objectives and learning Outcomes are provided along with skills that should be covered within the lessons. Assessment is provided along with what to do with that assessment after. Finally, the lesson is finished with a ‘Show of your skills’.
Classification Species KS3 KS4
You can use these images as cards to print off and then students arrange into different stages of classification. Start with the Kingdoms.
Then select the Animals.
Organise animals into vertebrates and invertebrates.
Select vertebrates.
Organise vertebrates to mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians.
Select mammals.
Ask them to organise cats and not cats.
You can then talk about individual species.
KS3 Plant reproduction and Fertilisation Cover
This lesson has been designed as cover (especially for non specialist teaching), but can also be used for a normal lesson if needed.
The lesson has a link to a video and a slide of information with a blockbuster style task for the class to use. No printing required, but you could print the information off.
Answers included. There is a plenary activity for the end of the lesson.
Cell Biology - Diffusion KS3
Lesson and any additional resources provided for teaching diffusion to KS3. This lesson can be used to really work on student skills of planning an investigation. Might take more than one lesson. This is part of the first unit call cell biology based off the national curriculum. Lessons can be used as teacher led, but easy to adapt to be less so. The system we use in school is a coloured system based on the students end of year 11 target. 1 - Purple, 2 - Lilac, 3 - Dark Blue, 4 - Light Blue, 5 - Dark Green, 6 - Light Green, 7 - Yellow, 8 - Orange and 9 - Red. Lessons may include items that have now been adapted within the lesson.
