This is a KS1, detailed plan of 9 literacy sessions, focusing on narrative writing, to be run over 2 weeks. It uses the text 'Beegu' written by Alex Decon and has been amended from the Power of Reading Scheme plan to make it suitable and easy to use straight away. There are 3 levels of differentiation, along with ideas for continuous provision to run alongside the text.
It links well to the Year 1 and Year 2 Curriculum objectives and will motivate children to use their imagination, work on their predicting skills and much more.
There is a list of useful notes, resources and key questions for each lesson.
The resources have been carefully organised into relevant folders for each lesson and include the Learning Objectives and Success Criteria.
This pack is a fantastic resource for teaching the ‘Animals, Including and Humans’ part of the Science curriculum. All planning and resources, including Powerpoints, worksheets and detailed planning, have been done for you, so that you can focus your precious time on more important things!
The transition between Reception and Year 1 has long been a challenge for many Year 1 teachers. Well not anymore!
Here are 6 weeks worth of planning that will allow pupils time to get used to starting the National curriculum. Each task or activity planned linked directly to the Year 1 Curriculum and is differentiated three ways to give opportunities to further the learning taking place. These challenges once explained to pupils, can be completed independently whilst group work is going on with adults. To help with the set up of all the activities, photos of how they look are included in the plans.
A ‘Learning Passport’ can be created so that a record of activities completed can be kept as evidence for learning. If the children are shown they are more than capable of filing their own work into a flap folder or ring binder.
Resources are included as necessary; however most tasks or activities can be found in school!
This is a unit of Literacy planning that lasts 2 weeks, or potentially more if you have time! It's a high quality picture book and uses Art and Music to motivate the children to write and feel invested in the main character of the book. This has proved to be very successful within both Years 1 and 2.
The planning is inspired by the CLPE 'Power of Pictures' approach.
All resources are included - this will save you HOURS and HOURS of planning time.
All LO's and SC's are ready for you also.
Key vocabulary card that can be stuck in books to improve children's spellings.
