This is a unit of Literacy planning that lasts 2 weeks, or potentially more if you have time! It's a high quality picture book and uses Art and Music to motivate the children to write and feel invested in the main character of the book. This has proved to be very successful within both Years 1 and 2. The planning is inspired by the CLPE 'Power of Pictures' approach. KS1 Beegu Unit of Planning and ALL Resources (CP included)

KS1 Beegu Unit of Planning and ALL Resources (CP included)

This is a KS1, detailed plan of 9 literacy sessions, focusing on narrative writing, to be run over 2 weeks. It uses the text 'Beegu' written by Alex Decon and has been amended from the Power of Reading Scheme plan to make it suitable and easy to use straight away. There are 3 levels of differentiation, along with ideas for continuous provision to run alongside the text. It links well to the Year 1 and Year 2 Curriculum objectives and will motivate children to use their imagination, work on their predicting skills and much more. There is a list of useful notes, resources and key questions for each lesson. The resources have been carefully organised into relevant folders for each lesson and include the Learning Objectives and Success Criteria.
